Adapter Plate Mock Up – Modell der Motorplatte
The first adapter plate will be made from six layers of 9mm plywood. This should be sturdy enough to support the motor for basic testing. The plate has to align the motor and take all the torque. The motor weight is mostly taken by the support bar that I will build next.
Bevor ich die Adapterplatte ausfräsen lasse, habe ich ersteinmal ein 1:1 Modell aus 9mm Multiplex gelasert. Wenn’s passt, dann habe ich schon alle Maße und muss nur noch jemanden finden, der’s fräst.Six plates make one 52mm adapter. The motor is held by eight bolts. Unfortunately the bolt are 3/8″ imperial which is quite hard to get in Germany. Why a European company decides for fractional size is a riddle to me.

Sechs Platten machen einen Adapter mit 52mm Dicke. Acht Schrauben halten den Motor. Leider sind die Gewinde zöllig. Aber die Schrauben gibt’s problemlos bei Screw Corner auf EBay. Die sitzen in Süddeutschland und haben ultraschnell geliefert.
This is the assembled adapter plate. The final design had another modification that makes the load bearing assembly even fatter at 27mm ply. I have mounted the plate on the motor. I will mount the assembly on the gear box when the coupler arrives and the motor support is done.
So sieht die Platte zusammengeklebt aus. Sobald die hintere Motoraufhängung fertig ist werde ich den Motor probeweise einbauen. Juhuu.
